Minh Phuong Nguyen

I am Minh Phuong Nguyen (Eris),
a dedicated media studies student from British Vietnamese International School Hanoi (BVIS Hanoi). With my hobbies being drawing, listening to music, taking photos, reading books or comics and watching films, I soon realised the role that media plays in my life and how it helps me become the person I am now.
Ever since a child, I always knew that I belong to the creative fields. Not only as a hobby, I wanted to pursue it as career after directing my class play Cinderella in 8th grade. In the future, I genuinely hope that my voice, my ideologies will be heard through my visual media productions throughout my career.

I would take my camera with me to take photos anywhere I go, and take photos of every moment I witness. I am deeply fascinated by the idea of the diversity in human experiences. It is profound beauty to know that everyone encounters the world differently everyday.
Jack Bridgland is currently the photographer I admire the most. He draws his inspirations from the heydays of the 90s, making his photos very distinctive because of their surreal haze of nostalgia, created by exxagerated lighting and animated colors. My current favorite work from him is his global print cover collection of Robert Pattinson (on the right).
Regarding cinematic arts, I am indeed a big fan of director Damien Chazelle. I got to know him from his film Whiplash and followed him ever since. His productions' cinematography (especially visual storytelling) and storyline are always on point and the soundtracks are all bops!
