INITIAL OVERVIEW
My teammate Yuji and I have decided to go for the genre romance comedy (also known as rom-com). We both believe that the content should revolve around young people as we understand it more and it would also helps when searching for actors.
Idea #1: Untitled - Musical/Romance
-
Story of two college music learners getting to know each other
-
Settings: Liberal Arts College
-
Opening sequence includes: Musical scenes (e.g. playing instrument as first meet)

Idea #2: The secret
-
The female protagonist is a bully, male protagonist is the bullied
-
Settings: High school
-
Because of one life-turning event, the female lead decided to help the male lead in secret as she doesn't want to be thought of as someone who betrays their friends
-
Open sequence includes: The boy being bullied, impacting his life in and outside of school

Idea #3: Untitled
-
The two protagonists are not interested in dating, since they are workaholics
-
As the couple somehow die then turn into ghosts after coming across each other, they tried getting to know each other as well as team up to overcome problems in the world
-
Opening sequence includes: Working scenes of each character before they died.
Yuji's Ideas
#1: Telepathy
-
Story of a deaf girl and a boy who loves learning language (opposite attracts)
-
Main focus: The girl's journey to step out of her comfort zone, finally doing things she has always loved (largely because of the boy's assistance)
-
Opening sequence includes: the girl's daily routine (waking up, breakfast, going to a cafe for work before encountering with the boy) - note that no audio will be used to imply that she is deaf
#2: Eyes On You
-
A librarian (central character) who obsessively admires a girl who comes to the library on a daily basis. The plot follows the librarian's twisted love for the girl
-
Opening sequence includes: librarian's voiceover of his thoughts while observing the girl reading a book, revealing both characters' background
My Ideas
We didn't fully go with any idea given above, however I quickly found the potential in Yuji's 3rd idea where the characters only fall in love after death. Combining with my idea of the trope "opposite attracts" and a character being a routine person, we have finally came up with the very first initial idea of our film: the story of two opposite characters (one very fixed, one very impulsive) falling in love after their unfortunate deaths.
