Beyond Epiphany Todorov's Narrative Theory

#1 - Equilibrium: The protagonists living their separate lives

Minh being a college learner during the day and a worker at night

Vy breaks up with her ex and is determined to get a 'rebound'

#2 - Disruption: Minh and Vy come across each other at the train station, decide to hang out with each other only to end up dead in a lethal car crash. They find themselves being two lost souls.

#4 - Repair: As Minh and Vy get to know more about each other, they developed feelings. The two also learn their life lessons of actual self-love and to appreciate the 'fine things' in life.

Tagline

"the spark of color in my monotonous world"

I  wanted to emphasize on hinting the audience about the "opposite attracts" trope, hence using opposite phrases: "spark of color" and "monotonous world". Using this tagline, we aim to hint the audience that the film revolves around a character who lives a 'dull' or routine life (Minh), who stands behind "my monotonous world". The love interest (Vy) who is the "spark of color" would shake up the other character's daily routine with vibrancy and help change life perspective. Therefore, Yuji and I believe that our tagline shows that the film is a romcom that explores such themes like love, self-discovery and transformation.

FILM TITLE

Epiphany

[noun] /ɪˈpɪf.ən.i/

a moment when you suddenly feel that you understand, or suddenly become conscious of, something that is very important to you

The name Beyond Epiphany means 'more than just a realization' (literally). Our main characters are relatable: they have their fun and heartfelt moments, and they both learned something really important to themselves by the end of the film. And the message also applies for our audience! We hope this reminds everyone that the greatest adventure sometimes begins when we expect it the least.
