TARGET AUDIENCE SURVEY ANALYSIS
& VIEWER'S PROFILE
To gain a better understanding of people's preferences, I did an audience survey and successfully attracted information from 62 partipants. I chose Google Forms to conduct my survey and distributed it through my social media pages with the help of friends and family.
The first question determines the target audience's majority age group. The dominant cohort that answered our questions are from 13-17 year olds, followed by 18-25 years old, which makes the majority of our potential audiences teenagers and young adults.
The second question determines the main gender of the audience. The audiences are mostly females as they account for 74.2% of the survey results while male participants only added up to 24.2%.
For viewing frequency, "Few times a week" accounted for 35.5% of the survey results. Other options varied from 15% to 25%. This shows that our audience do enjoy watching films and they watch films at a frequent level.
The fourth question is about genre. The most picked genres were Romance and Comedy. Since we were doing a romcom, the result of this question prove that my film is likely to attract the targeted demographic.
The majority (61.3%) of the responses picked "online streaming platforms". Therefore, we plan on releasing our film on Netflix or other platforms, instead of the cinema.
In terms of economic status, more than a third of the participants were willing to pay from 100.000 VND to 150.000 VND for a film ticket. However, there is a negative correlation between the price and number of people: as the price increased, the number of people willing to pay for tickets decreased.
Almost three quarters of the survey responses were "Characters" when audiences were asked about what would attract them in a film opening sequence. Two other popular answers were "Settings" and "Visuals". Therefore, I will put extra effort in character and production design.
More than a quarter of the participants agreed that they prefer a classic opening with establishing shots. This will help me determine our opening title's style easier when I do further planning.
